Home Staging is an industry that is truly in its infancy. As with all
new concepts, it requires fine tuning. Ready For Market LLC was formed
with the mission to set standards for professionalism, technological
advancement and ethical practices. Our goal is to expand our business
concept on a nationwide level, building a network of talented stagers, so
that the industry earns the credibility it deserves.
The Industry
First, understand that home staging is currently an unregulated business.
When you see a home stager with a string of acronyms after their name, they
are most likely graduates of a 2 or 3 day course offered by a variety of
businesses whose aim is to make money. They do not screen their applicants
for talent, ability, experience, knowledge or prior education. They do not
test or regulate practices. They basically charge their student-clients for
presenting them with all the same information that is readily available to
anyone in a book store or on the internet. A graduate of their program could
have no design, marketing or real estate experience at all. That’s not to
say a stager with A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. after their name is not talented, they may
very well be. Look at their work, ask them for references, and see what they
have done in order to determine what they can do. Be specific with your
questions, and don’t assume that pictures placed in their portfolio are
actual photos of work they have done. Don’t let your decision be based on
the presence of a purchased certification. Your home is most likely your
most valuable asset, be sure you are getting the professional marketing you
expect and deserve!
